We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.
— Brené Brown

What if you could re-define your relationship with struggle?

If we are courageous with our lives, it is inevitable that we will sometimes fall.

This workshop considers what it takes to get back up again – a key component of resilience in the world of psychology, personal development and change.

Using the research and curriculum of Brené Brown, this two day workshop teaches a process through which to recover and learn from those ‘face down’ moments.  The goal of the process is to rise from our falls, overcome our mistakes, and face adversity in a way that is rich with wisdom and self-compassion.

Come and explore Brené Brown's work in further depth and apply The Reckoning, The Rumble and The Revolution to your own lives.

Here's what we will explore...

- The physics of vulnerability and the ten rules of engagement for Rising Strong.

-How all stories have three main acts and that humans are wired for story.

- The Rising Strong process and goals: rise from our falls, overcome our mistakes, and face hurt in a way that brings more wisdom and wholeheartedness to our lives.

-The ways in which we offload hurt and your 'go-to' responses for dealing with disappointment and hurt.

-How to work through the Rising Strong process and finish with a new brave story.

- We may rumble with topics such as shame, vulnerability, criticism, trust, grief and forgiveness, and anxiety (depending on the needs and experience of the group).

You cannot struggle to joy. Struggle and joy are not on the same channel. You joy your way to joy. You laugh your way to success. It is through your joy that good things come.
— Abraham Hicks

Before Rising Strong, I didn’t really know where I was . After the workshop, I’ve realised that being your authentic self and vulnerable is ok.

“Getting ok” with where I was in my story. I’d had a bit of a fall in January, where I had to face that my coaching business wasn’t working as a business. In the time since then and the RS workshop, I had been grieving and coming to terms with what I perceived initially as failure. It had taken a few months and I was really looking forward to learning from the RS process as to how I could take myself forward with more positivity and less of a sense of shame, failure, and disappointment.

What’s different after the workshop is that I feel much freer and accepting of myself. I’m able to pause and observe what’s happening in the midst of an emotional hijack, and then work through what is going on and how I can handle it differently. I feel less that I’ve “failed” at something, and more that I get to explore a different narrative that will bring me more peace and purpose with how to move forward. And to accept that I’m human, not perfect, and that there will be times when things don’t go as I imagined they would - and that I’ll still be able to learn from and rise strong from those experiences.

After Rising Strong™

  • You're clearer about interpreting your thinking, emotions and behaviour and how they relate to your relationship with yourself, others, and the outside world.

  • You have tools for recognising when you’ve been ‘hooked’, when something is going on for you.

  • You've begun to surround yourself with support, and know how to ask for help when you need it.

  • The voice in your head is a much kinder one, especially when it's talking directly to you.

  • You’ve redefined your relationship with ‘failing’ and have more tools to help you through the process.

  • You feel much freer and accepting of yourself.

  • You feel more confident around some issues you may have been dealing with for some time.

I run these workshops because this has been the most deeply transformative inner work I have ever done (and witnessed in others) and because I truly believe that everyone on the planet would benefit from doing it. I've been teach this material for over 4 years now and have seen again and again the transformational effects that practicing this knowledge brings.

The workshop is not therapy.

You will be invited to look deeply into areas of your life where you are triggered by things/people/situations, and explore what is really going on for you.

This work takes courage. Feeling our feelings and re-examining our thoughts can be tricky at first, but the rewards are great because telling the truth about our lives is the first step to transforming the results we are getting. I am holding a powerful intention for your expanded self-awareness and capacity to experience connection and joy.

A short, pre-booking call is required to check that this is the right programme at the right time for you.

About your coach and guide:

I'm Jacqui - I'm trained as a coach, psychologist and Certified Daring Way™ and Dare To Lead™ Facilitator. As well as my personal work with women, I work with groups, teams and leaders in workplaces. My work is informed by my values of Freedom, Kindness, Creativity, Excitement, Gratitude and Courage.

Most importantly, I've walked this path, so I know what it takes to move from living from fear, shame and scarcity, to being real, messy and magnificent, and feeling whole. Living a wholehearted life happens in the detail of our daily lives, and by cultivating a rock-solid 'support section' - we're not supposed to do this alone.

You can find me online at www.braveologist.co.uk.

Rather than go straight to ‘default shame’ I have learned to apply reasoning.

Questions you might have:

I'm ready to book - what happens now?

Great. Contact me to set up time for a 20 minute conversation (this is to ensure the programme is right for you at this time). You can book via this website, or ask me about payment plans. Once you've paid this, your place is secured and I'll send you further details.

Can I pay in full, or can you invoice my employer?

Absolutely. Tell me what you need when you make contact.

What if I can't come, or change my mind?

Please register mindfully as your deposit holds the energy of your intention to take part in this workshop. Your place is transferrable but not refundable. This means you can sell, or gift, your place to someone else.

How do I get to The Sill?

You can see the details here.

Where should I stay?

There is a Youth Hostel at the Sill, and when you book I'll send you a link to other local accommodation in the area. The Twice Brewed Inn is right next door to the venue, and does B&B.

What if I have dietary needs or allergies?

Let me know at the time of booking. We'll do our best to make sure everyone is well catered for. The Sill has a cafe and they will be lovingly preparing our catering. We’ll have tea and coffee available but you’ll be able to get other drinks you might want yourself from the cafe.

Is this therapy?

No, it's not, and I am not a therapist. I'm a coach - governed by the ethics of the International Coach Federation - so will take good care of your beautiful heart - but I'm not qualified to offer therapy. You'll be asked to sign a coping agreement so you'll have the chance to think through what support you might need after the workshop, and I can help with recommendations, should you feel the need to dig more deeply into, and heal old stories. Past participants have done that and I've sought some extra support myself before now.

I might need more support - can I coach with you on top of attending the workshop?

Absolutely. You can book with me for pre and post Rising Strong™ coaching support - Two 60 minute sessions before the workshop and one afterwards, for a one off payment of £250. Ask me for more details.

Will I be able to call myself a Certified Daring Way Facilitator after the workshop?

No - this work is for your own development and does not equip you to run workshops using the materials from Daring Greatly or Rising Strong. You can find out more about certifying with the Daring Way at www.thedaringway.com.
