The Reckoning. The Rumble. The Revolution.™

That ‘tricky’ relationship, the painful experience of exposure, that narrative you don’t seem to be able to move on from, life transitions, setbacks, disappointments, loss and heartbreaks. The places we deny or avoid letting parts of our life and stories be true - there is power and energy here tied up in avoidance and we are going to set some of that free.

When we’re doing the work of being who we are and being braver, there comes a point where we can’t grow any further without changing our relationship with (what we see as) failure. We can use life’s difficult circumstances as creative fuel for our own evolution! This is alchemy.

I know that doesn’t sound much fun. I get it - it’s super-hard to look at or feel some of this stuff honestly, but the way out is through, my friends. We need to be willing to ‘go there’ if we’re going to feel liberated. The Rising Strong process is going to be our map and guide, and this workshop brings us together with fellow travellers on the path of self-discovery, so you don’t have to do this alone.

If it's your time to rise and face the truth, I can help.

Rising Strong™ is a resiliency-building curriculum about what it takes for us to get back up after setbacks to live a more wholehearted and satisfying life, and is full of activities based on the research of Brené Brown.

It's practical and experiential - you'll learn why you do the things you do in relation to how you think others see you, whether they be direct reports or loved ones, and you'll be learning a practical structure you can put into place right immediately after the workshop in your life.

This event is limited to around 9 people so that you can have plenty of space during the workshop to work things through.

We may never be completely failure-avoidant or 100% comfortable - there will still be days when we feel the sting of difficulty. But there is such power and freedom in understanding shame, vulnerability and courage, and having worked out how they have been calling the shots in our lives. It's like letting the genie out of the bottle - once it's out, there's no going back.

It could be for you if you currently:

  • Are being asked to step into a bigger arena at work, or are creating something new.

  • Regularly feel afraid, exposed, isolated or like you're full of 'imposter syndrome'

  • Think thoughts or say things to yourself that are unkind, and harsh, about your capability, intelligence, body, or appearance.

  • Isolate yourself instead of asking for help.

  • 'Over-care', getting enmeshed in other people's 'stuff', or get told you are 'cold' or 'aloof'.

  • Work really hard to manage what others think about you.

  • Obsess over getting things just right, most of the time.

  • Smile when you're feeling furious, or other incongruent emotions/behaviours.

After Rising Strong™

  • You're clear about what shame is, what triggers you, and you have clarity about what shame-resilience looks like, going forward, for you.

  • You're cultivating deeper connections with the people that matter to you, and feel more authentic in your communication.

  • You know how to stay connected and empathise, but with strong, healthy boundaries.

  • You know what it takes to step into a bigger arena, and what steps to take next.

  • You've begun to surround yourself with support, and know how to ask for help when you need it.

  • The voice in your head is a much kinder one, especially when it's talking directly to you.

  • You lead, communicate and engage others with authenticity, trust, and presence.

  • You feel clear, purposeful, move alive than ever.

Don’t take my word for the powerful impact of the workshop - here’s what others said about their experience:

I’m experiencing some post course strange revelations. My daughter has refused to go school for 7 days straight. I’ve had her teacher round, and she says every day she’ll go and then can’t.

As I sit here tonight, after a very long connected conversation with my husband, I am left with a feeling of almost happiness which has blown me away. It’s not quite happiness, and I have been on the verge of panic at 1 am at times in the last week, but I am beginning to think the feeling is merely the absence of shaming myself which has left me with a feeling of strength and hope. Don’t get me wrong, anytime soon I’ll be shitting myself again, yet I know I can pull myself round and stay connected to myself. I didn’t know I could do this.

I want to send this feeling to my Daring Greatly tribe. They all helped me to be here, so it’s the least I can do.
— Daring Greatly participant

Before DG I felt a little lost and confused. Now I feel grounded and clear on WHY I feel the way I do and able to start working on these areas in a meaningful way.

This work landed for me with a thud and really made me see myself - the way it was delivered with vulnerability, transparency and lightness made this impact be felt. I had read the books so nothing was ‘new’ and yet it was all new as it came to life with the modelling. Jacqui is an amazing facilitator and seer of people.
— Rebecca Armstrong, Daring Greatly™ participant

I loved the Daring Way. I now have a greater awareness of being vulnerable and feeling shame, and the antidotes for this. Because of your gentle and flexible approach, I felt safe yet stretched and equipped with the learning I needed.
— Dorothy Armstrong - Facilitator and Communications Consultant, Edinburgh

If I only had one word to describe myself before Daring Greatly it would be stuck. I had some awareness of the destructive cycles that were keeping me stuck in fear and shame, I was tired of the pain I was causing myself and others when in these destructive cycles but no matter how much I tried I could not seem to stop.

Now I have hope, faith trust and so much gratitude. I am so grateful for the clarity I have, particularly around my values, and to have awareness of the patterns around shame and its triggers, also grateful to now have some tools and language to help navigate my way through the arena.

I have trust in the grounded theory research data and because I trust that it comes from thousands of human stories and the patterns are so clear, I can trust as a human being it applies to me.
— L Baldwin, Daring Greatly participant

Before DG, I’d describe myself as ‘hiding behind my armour’. Now, I’m learning to be able show my vulnerability. I’m practising a new vocabulary and I’ve stopped projecting my values onto others.

Being in the same space as those other brave ladies was totally inspiring.
— Helen A, Daring Greatly participant

Most valuable for me was looking back at the shaming messages from childhood, work and relationships, found that a powerful exercise when thinking about the arena. I found Jacqui’s enthusiasm, vulnerability, ability to create psychological safety, honesty and knowledge to be second to none. She is an inspiring woman!
— Mary T Tierney - Azurite Consulting, County Clare

The course is ‘slow burn’ - like incense; you can’t see the flame but the smell perfumes everything, going forward.
— DG online participant, 2021

About your coach and guide:

I'm Jacqui - I'm trained as a coach, psychologist and Certified Daring Way™ and Dare To Lead™ Facilitator. As well as my individual work with women, I support teams and leaders in workplaces. I deeply care about our ability to experience freedom, kindness, creativity, appreciation and courage.

I've walked this path, so I know what it takes to move from living from fear, shame and scarcity, to being real, messy and magnificent, and feeling whole. Living a wholehearted life happens in the detail of our daily lives, and by cultivating a rock-solid 'support section' - we're not supposed to do this alone.

You can find me online at www.braveologist.co.uk.

Before coming to The Daring Way I was struggling sometimes, always checking if I was doing things right.

After The Daring Way, I am less soul searching, feel like I have tools such as a word and arena anthem to guide my way when the wobbles start.

I feel it’s taken til today to start to settle back in to myself. The 3 special days we shared last week have made a deep and lasting impression on me, that I want to hold on to for a long time.

The compassion and kindness shown to me by you all, especially on that very hard first day helped me find the courage to believe I could do this, to show up and be seen. I might not always have done that in the most graceful, polished way but I truly will treasure being brave.
— Ally McGuinness, workshop participant

This workshop is offered on an inclusive pricing basis. That means there are different tiers, depending on your financial situation and ability to pay for access to this work, which hopefully makes things a lot more accessible for everyone who needs it. This is a trust and honour-based system, which I learned about from Alexis J. Cunningfolk at https://www.wortsandcunning.com/blog/sliding-scale. Please be mindful that if you purchase a price at the lowest end of the scale when you can truthfully afford the higher ticket prices, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices allows the strength and sustainability of this work to exist in the world. It also respects the work of teachers and creators, like myself, who have bills to pay and a living to earn. .

The highest tier* cost £550.00 +VAT, payable in full at the time of booking (total £660).

The middle tier** cost is £420 +VAT per place (total £504).

The supported*** cost is £295 + VAT per place (total £354).

*This reflects the true cost of the class. If you have access to financial security, own property or have personal savings, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services. If you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, you have economic privilege and power. This price is for you. Please also choose this tier if your organisation is funding the workshop.

** This option recognises that paying the full cost would prevent some people from being able to attend. If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, child care, etc, you belong here.

*** This option is for people whose economic circumstances would prevent them from being a part of the workshop if there was not a deliberate opportunity made for access at a cost that is reflective of their economic realities. If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck or are in significant debt, you belong probably belong here and you will be welcomed as an equal alongside as the person who can pay the highest tier. If the lower tier is still prohibitive for you, I will work with you to offer extended payment plans and other solutions.

What's included:

  • A pre-booking 30 min call with me to talk about what you can expect from the workshop, and to answer any questions you may have. If the programme isn’t right for you at this time, I’ll refund any payment you’ve made and will offer to refer you to other helping professionals who may better suit your need at this time.

  • A beautiful Rising Strong™ workbook and all creative materials.

Please bring your own lunch and any snacks you might like - lunch is not included. There is a cafe upstairs at the venue and there is a pub next door (booking recommended).

Tea, coffee and water will be available, along with some delicious nibbles.

Questions you might have:

I'm ready to book or want to find out more - what happens now?

Use the ‘I’m interested’ button above to contact me to set up time for an informal, welcoming conversation (around half an hour) to ensure the programme is right for you at this time.

Following that conversation, we’ll get your place secured. I will invoice you for the full payment or a payment plan depending on how you want to pay. Once your first payment is made, I’ll confirm your place and send you your welcome email.

Please note that payment for workshops needs to be completed by 18 August 2024 and this option carries your intention to pay the full amount. As there are limited numbers for participating refunds are not available.

Can I pay in full, or can you invoice my employer?

Absolutely. Just let me know who you want the invoice to go to.

Cancellation by you:
Your payment is non-refundable. Please register mindfully as your payment holds the energy of your intention to join the workshop and attend all three days. This means you can sell, or gift, your place to someone else, before the programme starts, or transfer to a future programme, if one is running. You will need to find the replacement person, unless I have someone from the waiting list wanting a place. Places cannot be transferred once the programme begins. There are no refunds if you decide not to complete the full three days. The reason for this is the group runs small and there are up-front costs incurred in running the workshop.

Cancellation by Jacqui at Braveologist:

I’m just one person! If the workshop is unable to go ahead for any reason and I have to cancel it (it’s not happened before - in fact the last programme ran a fortnight after an unexpected family bereavement), I will refund your ticket price in full using the method you used to pay. I am unable to refund any up front travel or accommodation costs you may incur, so strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance for this purpose.

Is this therapy?

No. I am not a therapist, although I do work in a trauma-informed way (which means, I understand how difficult experiences from the past might show up in our work together, and I’ll always respect your choices and right to take things at a pace that feels right to you). I am not able to offer mental health support or counselling and I'm not qualified to offer therapy. Let’s talk about it if you have a diagnosis, or if you’re not sure if the programme’s right for you at this time.

You’ll be invited to complete a ‘coping agreement’ - this is a requirement of the Daring Way team in Houston that gives you the opportunity to think about what support you might need and how you’ll keep yourself safe and regulated.

I'm a coach - and work within the boundaries of the ethics of the International Coach Federation - so our focus will be on the ‘here and now’ and what you want to create going forward.  You'll be asked to sign a coping agreement so you'll have the chance to think through what support you might need during or after the programme, and I will offer you resources and recommendations for counselling or mental health resources.

I might need more support - can I coach with you on top of attending the programme and my included session?

Absolutely - a wise choice! This work deepens over time (and with practice ‘out in the real world’ ☺️) and is so much easier with the support of a relationship with warmth, empathy and someone’s rock-solid belief in you. I’ve worked with coaches, supervisors and therapists over the course of getting this work in my bones (and I’m still a work in progress, too!). It’s not ‘once and done’ inner work, but gets richer with time, practice, and self-trust.

You can hire me to work with you 1-1 session by session, or over a package of sessions.

Will I be able to call myself a Certified Daring Way Facilitator after the workshop?

No - this work is for your own development and does not equip you to run workshops using the materials from Daring Greatly or Rising Strong. You can find out more about certifying with the Daring Way at www.thedaringway.com.

My intention is to gather people who feel really good about booking. As scarcity can often show up, I invite you to notice if you have any twinges of scarcity, fear of missing out or worry over paying for something you can't afford.

You do not need to have this, or any other experience, to start showing up more bravely in your life. Support is fantastic, yes, but you don't NEED a reason to start.

There will be other programmes and workshops, with me or with other facilitators. There are a million ways to deepen into this work, including reading Brene's books and watching videos that are freely available online.

You can begin right now, just as you are.

And if it still feels like a yes, click the 'Booking form’ button below.

Got a question not answered here?

Contact me using the button below to ask anything related to the programme. No question too silly, I promise.

Before coming to Rising Strong, I was in a fairly good place. I had just completed DG, so I was eager to start RS. After RS, I am more aware, curious, reflective and thoughtful. My stand out moments were thinking about the stories I get hooked in to. Being more curious. BRAVING has really stayed with me - from people I trust, and trusting myself. Also rumbling with loss.

You are ace - genuinely. Thank you for being warm, patient, compassionate and loving. I appreciated your rawness and rebellious side, as well as your softer parts.
— Rising Strong participant.

The stand out moments for me were the lovely silences the stories we shared and the honesty and the vulnerability.
— Rising Strong™ participant

Before RS, I was curious about what else was out there that would help me make sense of some of the stuff I’d be starting to think about in terms of the stories we tell ourselves about the world.

What’s different after is that I feel like I have tools to help me through the process of ‘failing’, and I feel stronger because of that.

There was good content and fabulous facilitation - lots of space to think. I appreciated being given lots of time to think in a safe space, not being pressurised to share everything all the time.
— SJ, Rising Strong participant.

Before Rising Strong, I was ready for some huge changes but a bit anxious about it all. Since attending, for my second time, I have a better understanding of rising strong , but learned even more, well explained and delivered with authenticity. It seemed better than the last one, (that may have been because I was less anxious this time) different delivery too which was fantastic, it’s got a different spin on the material which I found refreshing and exciting.

No stand out moments apart from all of it!! I just connected through the whole two days, everything I have read and watched on rising strong fell onto place, Jacqui made it come to life.

Cant wait for the daring way!!! thanks for believing in me xxx
